**10th Our Ocean Conference: Second Preparatory Committee Meeting in Busan in April**
Sejong, Ha Sang-ryeol from Edaily reports – The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries is accelerating preparations for the ‘Our Ocean Conference’ (OOC), a global high-level maritime meeting.
On the 20th, the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries announced, “The second preparatory committee meeting for the 10th OOC will be held on the 21st.”
The preparatory committee is composed of experts from various fields such as maritime affairs, diplomacy, and public relations, centered around Minister Kang Do-hyung. The committee is set to discuss the overall aspects of the 10th OOC event scheduled to take place at BEXCO in Busan this April. The first meeting was held in October last year.
During this meeting, they plan to share the current status of OOC preparations and exchange opinions on future directions. In particular, they will discuss major program compositions, as well as ways to promote leading policies and technologies in the maritime and fisheries sectors and avenues for cooperation.
Minister Kang stated, “I expect valuable advice from experts on the preparations for the 10th OOC through this committee,” and added, “Based on these insights, we will ensure thorough preparations to successfully host the 10th OOC, thereby reinforcing our nation’s status as a global central country in the maritime and fisheries sector.”
The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries anticipates that the 10th OOC will involve substantive discussions and commitments to address marine issues, with significant participation from global governments, international organizations, and civil society representatives.
