The investigation period for the cause of last April’s collapse accident at the Sinhaansan Line construction site in Gwangmyeong-si, Gyeonggi-do, will be further extended.
The Gwangmyeong Sinhaansan Line Construction Accident Investigation Committee announced that the investigation period for identifying the cause will be extended until April 30. This extension aims to conduct an in-depth verification of the direct causes of the accident and to develop an objective collapse scenario.
The investigation committee, which began its activities in earnest on April 17 last year, has extended the investigation period three times, including this one.
Previously, on April 11 last year, a tunnel construction site and the upper road collapsed in section 5-2 of the Sinhaansan double-track railway in Iljik-dong, Gwangmyeong-si, where POSCO E&C was the contractor, resulting in one death and one serious injury.
