SK Hynix was selected as one of the ‘World’s Most Ethical Companies’ – the first among South Korean semiconductor companies.

Kwak No-jung, CEO and President of SK Hynix, announced on the 12th that SK Hynix has become the first domestic semiconductor company to be selected as one of the “World’s Most Ethical Companies 2025” by Ethisphere.

Ethisphere is a global ethics management evaluation institution that defines and researches corporate ethical practices. The “World’s Most Ethical Companies” list is based on the “Ethics Quotient” developed by Ethisphere, taking into account the global business environment. The Ethics Quotient evaluates over 240 detailed items across five categories: ethics policies and compliance, corporate governance, ethical culture, environmental and social impact, and supply chain policies.

This year, a total of 136 companies were selected across 44 industries in 19 countries. In the semiconductor field, four companies, including SK Hynix, Intel, Micron, and Lam Research, were recognized.

SK Hynix remarked that their systematic approach to setting and executing their ethical management goals over the years has been globally recognized. They added that they aim to enhance corporate value based on their top-level ethical management system trusted by stakeholders.

The company believes that the recent award is due to the active and voluntary participation of its members in ethical management. Each year, SK Hynix conducts “Ethical Practice Pledges” and “Ethical Practice Surveys” to foster a culture in which members actively practice and improve upon ethical management. Since 2023, the company has been implementing a program to share its ethical management system and know-how with partner companies to build a collaborative ethical management framework.

Ethisphere Chair Erica Salmon Byrne congratulated SK Hynix, adding that the company’s authentic commitment to enhancing business integrity was pivotal to this recognition.

Kwak No-jung expressed gratitude to those who have worked to have the company’s ethical principles recognized globally and stated their commitment to living up to the trust of stakeholders and fulfilling their ethical responsibilities as a leading AI memory company.
