Samsung C&T Deploys Premium Residential Technologies for ‘Hannam 4’… “Creating a Landmark by the Han River”

Samsung C&T’s construction division announced on the 10th that they plan to employ advanced residential technologies in Hannam District 4, including custom-designed floor plans for union members, special-grade seismic structures, and first-grade soundproofing between floors. By doing so, they aim to develop Hannam District 4 into a leading premium residential complex along the Han River.

Samsung C&T is proposing various terrace-type layouts, such as terrace garden houses that allow residents to enjoy landscaping as if it were their own front yard, double terrace houses offering cinematic views through 12 windows, and triplex penthouses spanning three floors.

Leveraging the location characteristics of Hannam District 4, they propose 339 units with dual open sides and 781 units with three open sides to maximize views of the Han River, Namsan, and Yongsan Park. Additionally, all units over 59㎡ will feature expanded master bedroom balconies to enhance space efficiency, and furniture walls that function as standalone walls will be installed.

There will be 784 units classified as large-sized with exclusive areas of 107㎡ or more, which is 83 more than the original union design plan of 701 units. Including the 84㎡ “national size,” a total of 1,341 units will be medium to large-sized, accounting for 57% of the total 2,360 units.

Among the medium to large-sized units, 83% will feature specialized floor plans enabling cross ventilation and three-sided openness, with a south-facing arrangement for better lighting. Special-grade seismic design will be applied. According to current construction laws, seismic grades for buildings are classified as special, grade 1, or grade 2 based on importance and considerations for safety and functional performance.

During the construction period, structural experts will be stationed on-site, and even after occupancy, technical support necessary for the maintenance and management of the complex will be provided through regular inspections, including thaw and windstorm assessments, for 10 years.

Samsung C&T plans to apply first-grade technology for noise reduction between floors. They hold a unique position among domestic construction companies, having developed special cushioning materials and mortars, and possess first-grade noise reduction technology applicable to both wet and dry floor construction methods.
