HL D&I Halla announced on the 22nd that it has secured a contract for the “Seodaemun Station (Donuimun District 2) Urban Redevelopment Project,” issued by GL Donuimun D&C, amounting to 176.2 billion won.
The Seodaemun Station redevelopment project involves constructing a complex of 228 residential units and auxiliary facilities, ranging from six underground floors to 21 above-ground floors, at 28 Gyonam-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul. After obtaining the management disposition plan, demolition and relocation procedures will take place, with construction set to commence by the end of 2025. The construction period is 47 months from the start date.
The complex is located in a prime area adjacent to Seodaemun Station, offering convenient access to both the city center and outskirts. It is within walking distance of schools like Geumhwa Elementary, Dongmyeong Girls’ Middle School, and Inchang Middle and High Schools, providing an excellent educational environment. Additionally, residents will have access to convenient amenities such as Kangbuk Samsung Hospital and Lotte Department Store. It is expected to serve as a residential district supporting the central business district (CBD) of Gwanghwamun in the future.
Since last year, HL D&I Halla has consistently won contracts for station area redevelopment projects, demonstrating significant achievements. At the end of last year, the company secured the 289.5 billion won “Cheonan Sajik District Redevelopment Project,” followed by the 107.9 billion won “Namguro Station Area Urban Redevelopment Project” in March. Recently, they were also selected as the private business operator for the “Siheung City Hall Station Area High-Density and Mixed-Use Development Project,” and established a business agreement with Siheung City, showcasing its competitiveness in public sector station area development projects as well as in the private sector.
A representative from HL D&I Halla stated, “We plan to continue to focus on securing contracts for urban redevelopment and mixed-use station area development projects in regions with excellent business potential, such as Seoul and the metropolitan area, by leveraging our brand competitiveness and construction expertise.”
