Financial Services Commission Chairman: “Timely Financial Support for Companies Affected by U.S. Tariffs”

Kim Byeong-hwan, the Chairman of the Financial Services Commission, requested the financial sector to promptly supply funds to companies that may face difficulties due to the US tariffs.

Chairman Kim held a financial situation review meeting this morning (7th), along with the chairpersons of the five major financial holding companies.

Chairman Kim expressed concern, saying, “I am worried that the management of not only the export companies directly affected by the US tariff imposition but also their partner companies will become difficult.” He emphasized, “Financial holding companies and policy finance institutions should play a more active role in financial market stability and in supporting funds for real sectors such as businesses.”

The government is discussing funding support measures for the automobile industry, on which the US has decided to impose a 25% tariff, and plans to finalize the scale and method soon.
