Do Korean companies teach Korean in Hanoi?

On the 8th, LS held the opening ceremony for the ‘LS Dream Center’ in Haiphong, Vietnam. LS CEO An Won-hyung delivered a greeting during the event. The LS Dream Center in Haiphong is a four-story building that offers various programs for multicultural families, including childcare programs for preschool children in Korean-Vietnamese families, family counseling, and Korean language classes. The center plans to provide computer and information technology (IT) education as well as English education in the future.

The opening ceremony was attended by LS CEO An Won-hyung and Vietnamese Foreign Ministry Department Head Nguyễn Tuyết Thanh Võ. According to LS Group, the establishment of this LS Dream Center in Haiphong was a direct request from the city. The reason LS Group opened a Dream Center in Hanoi was due to the increasing number of Korean-Vietnamese families. According to the Hanoi Korean-Vietnamese Family Association, the number of Korean-Vietnamese families residing in Vietnam has increased dramatically, from around 500 households in 2016 to over 3,000 households last year.

LS Group first entered Vietnam in 1996 by establishing LS-VINA to produce power cables in Haiphong. Based on the philosophy of being a “reliable partner supporting the dreams of future generations,” LS Group has been dispatching around 1,000 LS university student volunteer groups composed of 25 university students and LS employees to countries such as Vietnam, India, Bangladesh, and Cambodia since 2007.

CEO An expressed his hope that the newly opened Dream Center will play a pivotal role in addressing economic independence and education issues for Korean-Vietnamese families.
