,
, ‘According to Jeju Nonghyup on the 13th, Jeju-grown sweet corn is being officially distributed at 6 local farm cooperatives. Sweet corn, compared to regular corn, is lower in calories and higher in sugar content, making it suitable for diet products. It can be steamed or cooked, and its crispy texture, resembling fruits, allows for raw consumption, making it a popular summer snack.’,
,
, ‘Jeju-grown sweet corn is the first to be distributed nationwide, but due to challenges in the cultivation process and recent consumption slowdown overlapping, the cultivation area is gradually decreasing. In fact, the cultivation area for Jeju sweet corn this year is 210 hectares, a decrease of about 20% from 263 hectares last year. With favorable weather conditions and increased production expected due to the good harvest season, the production volume is expected to exceed that of last year.’,
,
, ‘Amid intensifying competition with other regions and overlapping consumption slowdown, Jeju Nonghyup is working to expand the distribution of sweet corn as farmers have difficulty in individual sales. The Jeju Nonghyup cooperative corporation has set a target of 676 tons for this year’s integrated marketing distribution volume of sweet corn, a 24% increase from the previous year’s 545 tons, through consumer advertisements highlighting the excellence of Jeju-grown sweet corn and issuing consumer coupons.’,
