CJ Logistics America to Operate Cold Chain Logistics Center from the Third Quarter of Next Year, Enabling Transportation to 85% of the U.S. within Two Days
CJ Logistics America has announced on the 19th that it will establish a cold chain logistics center specialized in refrigerated and frozen product logistics in the New Century region of the United States. The center, with a size of 20,7034 square meters (8178 pyeong), is scheduled to start operating in the third quarter of 2025.
Once the cold chain logistics center is fully operational, it is expected that transportation within two days will be available in regions representing 85% of the United States. Particularly, with a highway located within 6 kilometers from the center and the continent-spanning line of the major U.S. cargo railroad company BNSF within 20 kilometers, long-distance transportation linked to the railroad is facilitated.
CJ Logistics America plans to utilize this center as a logistics center for the global food company ‘Upfield’ products. To achieve this goal, they plan to connect the Upfield production factory in the New Century region with CJ Logistics America’s cold chain logistics center via conveyors.
Kevin Coleman, CEO of CJ Logistics America, mentioned that cold chain logistics is a highly advanced and high value-added industry that requires thorough temperature management throughout processes such as storage, inventory management, and transportation. He stated, “Leveraging CJ Logistics’ 90 years of logistics operation experience and advanced technology, we will actively target the North American cold chain market.”
Meanwhile, CJ Logistics America is actively expanding related businesses and is set to start operating a cold chain logistics center with a size of approximately 25,000 square meters in Gainesville, Georgia this year.
