According to the construction industry on the 10th, an accident occurred at the apartment construction site in Anjung-eup, Pyeongtaek City, Gyeonggi Province, which is being constructed by Hyundai Engineering, where two workers fell.
As a result of this accident, one person died, and another sustained minor injuries. It was investigated that the accident occurred when the two workers were dismantling a concrete formwork connected to a tower crane just before the accident.
The police explained that the tower crane operator mistakenly thought the work was finished and operated the machine, causing the two workers to lose their balance and fall.
It is reported that police were dispatched to the site immediately after the accident to conduct site inspections and determine the cause of the accident. The Ministry of Employment and Labor is also expected to examine whether there are any violations of the Serious Accident Punishment Act.
A spokesperson for the construction company said, “We are currently identifying the exact cause of the accident.”
