Utility Pole Collision Accident Revealed to be ‘Traffic Accident Disguised as Murder’

A man in his 60s has been apprehended by the Gunsan police for allegedly killing an acquaintance by running them over with a vehicle and then attempting to disguise the incident as an accident. According to the Gunsan Police on the 10th, the suspect, referred to as A, is under investigation on murder charges. The incident occurred on the morning of June 9th in Okseo-myeon, Gunsan City, where A allegedly hit and killed his acquaintance, B, who was in his 50s, with the vehicle.

Initially, the police believed that B had died from a single-car accident where the Starex vehicle he was driving crashed into a utility pole. However, upon further investigation, it was revealed that A was also in the vehicle. The police concluded that A ran into B with the vehicle after B temporarily stepped out. A then put B back into the car and crashed into a utility pole to make it look like a simple traffic accident before fleeing the scene.

The investigation team confirmed these details through the analysis of CCTV footage and arrested A on the evening of June 9th. The investigation is ongoing, especially focusing on statements from acquaintances regarding a debt relationship between A and B. A police spokesperson mentioned that A is currently receiving treatment following a traffic accident that occurred during his escape and that once he is discharged, they will conduct a full investigation to determine the exact details of the crime.
