The special investigation team for the Marine Corps’ line-of-duty deaths plans to summon former Defense Ministry military advisor Park Jin-hee again on the 16th.
At a briefing on the 15th, Special Prosecutor Jeong Min-young stated that former advisor Park will be summoned as a suspect for further questioning at 9:30 AM on the 16th.
Previously, on the 11th and 12th, former advisor Park was also summoned as a suspect on charges of abuse of power and obstruction of justice through perjury.
Park is suspected of exerting external pressure on the investigation lines, including the Ministry of National Defense’s Investigation Headquarters, while closely communicating with key figures such as former Defense Minister Lee Jong-seop and former Marine Corps Commander Kim Kye-hwan during the period of July to August 2023 when the allegations of investigation interference arose.
