[Herald Economy (Sokcho) = Reporter Park Jung-kyu] Sokcho City has been selected as an ‘Outstanding Institution,’ the highest grade in the 2024 data-driven administration evaluation hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
The data-driven administration evaluation is an assessment that examines the data-driven administrative capabilities of a total of 679 institutions, including central administrative agencies, local governments, and public institutions. The comprehensive evaluation was conducted based on three areas: ▷Data Sharing ▷Data Analysis and Utilization ▷Management Systems, with 10 detailed indicators.
Sokcho City scored full marks in 8 out of the 10 detailed indicators, including the discovery of data analysis tasks, the policy utilization of analysis results, and the registration of shared data. This achievement reflects the city’s systematic data utilization and proactive administrative innovation. Sokcho City recorded an average score of 97, which significantly surpasses the overall average of 59.5 and the average of 63.2 for basic local governments.
In September last year, Sokcho City became the first in the province to pilot the introduction of generative AI in administration, followed by implementing it across all departments in November, leading administrative innovation in the age of artificial intelligence and data.
The city plans to spearhead public service improvement by utilizing data and strengthen smart administrative services by expanding AI-based administrative convenience services and generative AI special lectures.
Sokcho Mayor Lee Byung-seon stated, “We will do our utmost to implement a smart administration that is trusted by citizens by further strengthening data-driven administration.”
