**Special Investigation Team Directs Seoul High Prosecutors’ Office to Transfer Yoon by 2 PM**
On the afternoon of the 15th, at the entrance of the Seoul Detention Center in Uiwang, Gyeonggi Province, police are installing additional fences. This action is part of the second forced summons of former President Yoon Suk-yeol, who has refused to appear for questioning regarding the “December 3 Martial Law” case. This investigation is led by the special prosecutor team headed by Jo Eun-seok.
The correctional authorities have requested the special prosecutor team, investigating the December 3 incident, to provide personnel for the forced transfer of former President Yoon. The Ministry of Justice stated on the 16th, “Seoul Detention Center has sent a formal cooperation request to dispatch special prosecutors or investigators for the lawful execution of the transfer.”
The special prosecutor’s office had requested a third forced transfer of former President Yoon to the Seoul Detention Center the previous day. The special prosecutor’s office maintained that the management and transfer of detained suspects are responsibilities of the correctional authorities.
The special prosecutor team deemed forced transfer by physical means possible, but it seems the Seoul Detention Center considered it difficult given former President Yoon’s position. The special prosecutor team is reviewing the request from the detention center to decide whether to send personnel. If the transfer is not executed, extending the detention period will not be considered, and prosecuting without extension might be an option.
