The police conducted a raid on Hyundai’s Ulsan plant and Namyang research center in connection with the recent accident where three researchers died during a vehicle performance test at Hyundai Motor’s Ulsan factory.
On the 2nd, the Ulsan Police Agency, along with the Ministry of Employment and Labor, deployed around 30 investigators and labor inspectors to conduct a raid at the Hyundai Ulsan plant.
They are reportedly securing work logs and safety-related documents from the electrification quality division and safety departments where the accident occurred.
Separately, the Ministry of Employment and Labor is conducting a special inspection at the Ulsan plant to investigate compliance with the Industrial Safety and Health Act.
On November 19th, three researchers were found dead in a vehicle testing area at the Hyundai Ulsan plant. It is believed they suffocated after exhaust gases were not vented outside during a vehicle performance and idling test.
