Police Arrest Driver of Porsche That Fell Off Banpo Bridge on Drug Charges

A Porsche driver who fell from the Banpo Bridge in Seoul onto the riverbank of the Han River was arrested by the police on drug charges.

The Yongsan Police Station in Seoul announced today (26th) that they have urgently arrested a woman in her 30s, identified as Ms. A, for violation of the Narcotics Control Act and driving under the influence of drugs according to the Road Traffic Act.

Ms. A was driving a black Porsche at around 8:50 PM yesterday when she broke through the railing of the Banpo Bridge and fell onto the riverbank near the Jamsu Bridge.

As a result of the accident, Ms. A suffered contusions and was transported to the hospital. The fallen vehicle also hit another car, causing minor injuries to a male driver in his 40s, who received treatment.

The police found an empty bottle of propofol, a syringe filled with medication, and medical tubes in Ms. A’s vehicle.

The police plan to investigate Ms. A regarding the details of the accident and the source of the drugs before deciding whether to apply for an arrest warrant.
