Police: “A team of seven, including National Forensic Service agents, will depart this evening for the autopsy of a South Korean university student who was killed in Cambodia.”

A post-mortem examination for South Korean university student Park, who was kidnapped and murdered by a criminal organization in Cambodia, is scheduled to take place on the 20th. The autopsy will be conducted at the Tuktla Temple in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, where Park’s body is kept, under the supervision of a forensic doctor from the National Forensic Service (NFS) with the presence of South Korean investigators. Once the autopsy is completed, the body will be cremated and transported back to South Korea. Breaking news: Investigators have been dispatched to conduct an autopsy on the South Korean student who was deceived by a ‘high-income guaranteed’ job scam and murdered by a criminal gang in Cambodia.

The National Police Agency announced on the 19th that a joint autopsy with the Cambodian side would be conducted at around 9 a.m. on the 20th at the temple in Phnom Penh, where the body is being kept. The National Police Agency stated that seven members, including a forensic doctor from the National Forensic Service and the case investigators, would depart at 6:50 p.m. on the same day for the joint autopsy.

A police official mentioned that they are working with the Cambodian side to ensure that once the autopsy is complete, the cremation and other procedures are carried out quickly to allow for the remains to be repatriated.

Previously, Park had left for Cambodia on July 17th, following instructions from a group associated with Hong. Three weeks later, on August 8th, he was found dead in a car near Mount Bokor in Kampot Province. Some locals in Cambodia reportedly testified that Park died during transportation to the hospital. The autopsy in Cambodia is scheduled for 9 a.m. (local time) on the 20th, with a joint response team from the Korean government attending to verify the cause of death.
