2024 Manifesto Excellence Competition Grand Prize Winner Announced
(Gwangju= Yonhap News) Gwangju’s Buk-gu announced on the 1st that it has won the Grand Prize at the ‘2024 Manifesto Excellence Competition.’
Following achievements in the field of job creation and employment improvement last year, Buk-gu demonstrated success in the climate, environment, and ecology sector this year.
Buk-gu received praise for registering the Mudueme Wetland on Mt. Mudeungsan as Gwangju’s first Ramsar Wetland, showcasing the collaborative efforts of the public and private sectors in discovering and promoting valuable green resources within the city to the world.
The ‘Citizen’s Pathway Creation Project,’ which connected the ecological axis from Mt. Mudeungsan to the Yeongsan River, and the ‘Installation of Excellent Retention Facilities Project’ for effective climate change response also drew attention.
Mayor Moon In stated, “We will continue to discover policies that residents can feel by listening to various voices from the grassroots level.”
Buk-gu has been consistently recognized at the Manifesto Excellence Competition from the 7th local government to the present, winning five times in a row.
