[Incheon = Newsis] Reporter Lee Ruby – Viewers who sent donations to internet broadcasters (BJs) accused of live-streaming child sexual exploitation materials have been collectively sent to the prosecution on charges of abetment.
The Incheon Western Police Station announced on the 13th that they have forwarded 161 viewers, including Mr. A, who was booked without detention, to the prosecution on charges of abetment under the Act on the Protection of Children and Juveniles against Sexual Abuse (production and distribution of child sexual exploitation materials).
Mr. A and others are accused of sending donations to BJs who produced and live-streamed sexual exploitation materials involving a minor, identified as B, at an officetel in Seo-gu, Cheongna-dong, on July 12th last year.
It is reported that Mr. A and others sent donations ranging from 1,000 won to 3.2 million won.
At that time, the BJs were found to have spun a roulette marked with sexual acts, based on the donations received, and subsequently engaged in inappropriate physical contact with B.
Earlier, BJ B (33), who actively conducted the broadcast, was arrested and indicted on charges including violations of the Youth Sexual Protection Act and is undergoing a first trial at the Incheon District Court. Seven accomplice BJs who appeared on the broadcast have been sent without detention.
