**17 Cities and Counties in Gyeonggi-do to Operate 243 “Ttok Bus” Vehicles**
Gyeonggi-do and the Gyeonggi Transportation Corporation announced that starting today (the 10th), 10 “Ttok Bus” vehicles, a demand-responsive transport model, will begin trial operations around Dangsu-dong in Suwon. Full operations will commence on the 17th.
The “Ttok Bus” operates in the central shopping areas of Dangsu-dong, Ip-buk-dong, and Geumgok-dong in Suwon. The service utilizes 10 small 11-seater vans, with operating hours from 6 AM to midnight, and the cut-off time for requests is 11:30 PM. During the trial period from the 10th to the 16th, passengers can use the service for free. From the 17th, regular operation begins with fares matching standard city bus rates at 1,450 won for adults, 1,010 won for teens, and 730 won for children when using transit cards. The Metropolitan Area’s integrated transfer discount applies.
Yoon Tae-wan, Director of Gyeonggi-do’s Metropolitan Transportation Policy Department, stated, “The Suwon Ttok Bus is successfully serving as a means for residents in Gwanggyo and Gosaek-dong, and we will strive to ensure Ttok Bus contributes to the convenient mobility of residents in the Dangsu-dong area as well.”
Meanwhile, following the initial pilot project in Paju in 2022, Gyeonggi-do and the Gyeonggi Transportation Corporation now operate a total of 243 “Ttok Buses” across 17 cities and counties within Gyeonggi-do. This app-based new transportation means allows passengers to travel from their starting point to their destination without transfers while seated, establishing itself as a new transportation solution within Gyeonggi-do.
