A 70-year-old man who carried out a terrorist attack at a dental clinic in Seo-gu, Gwangju, was found to have planned the incident due to dissatisfaction with the denture treatment he received at the hospital.
On the 23rd, the Gwangju Seobu Police Station launched a thorough investigation into 70-year-old Mr. A, who detonated an incendiary explosive device at the entrance of the dental clinic in Seo-gu the previous day.
It was revealed that Mr. A had received crown treatment at the hospital several months ago. It is also known that he underwent a procedure to secure the loose teeth even after the treatment.
However, Mr. A reportedly complained to the hospital, questioning whether there was a problem with the treatment as his teeth continued to loosen.
Mr. A had made a reservation for a re-treatment on the 21st, but he did not show up on the reservation date. It was confirmed that he visited the hospital with the incendiary explosive device on the following day, the 22nd. Mr. A, who had been drinking at the time of the incident, was found to have placed a paper box containing the explosive at the hospital entrance and set it on fire. After the crime, he fled but surrendered himself at a nearby restaurant after about two hours.
The police began investigating Mr. A from the morning of that day. They plan to apply for an arrest warrant after investigating the exact motive behind the crime and the process of making the explosive device.
