According to the Korea Meteorological Administration on the 26th, a low-pressure system with clouds will pass over the Korean Peninsula from the morning till the afternoon of the 27th. Snow clouds from the West Sea are expected to bring significant snowfall from the afternoon of the 27th, continuing as late as the 29th.

Snow is anticipated to begin in the Seoul metropolitan area late on the afternoon of the 26th, accumulating to 10-25 cm by the 28th. Expected snowfall includes 10-30 cm in Gangwon, 5-20 cm in Chungcheong, 5-30 cm in eastern Jeonbuk, 5-15 cm in Gwangju, western Jeonbuk, and Jeonnam, 1-10 cm in Gyeongnam, 3-8 cm in Gyeongbuk, and 3-30 cm in Jeju across the nation.

A heavy snow watch is expected to be issued nationwide on the 27th. The Korea Meteorological Administration forecasts two periods of intense snowfall, once between early morning and afternoon on both the 27th and the 28th, with a potential snowfall rate of 3-5 cm per hour on the 27th.

Snow falling from morning to afternoon on the 27th is expected to be heavy and wet. In the central region, snowfall rates of 3-5 cm per hour are expected, and 1-3 cm per hour in the southern regions. The snowstorm, at a rate of 1-3 cm per hour, is expected to continue covering the entire country until the morning of the 28th.

Temperatures are also expected to drop sharply. On the morning of the 27th, the lowest temperatures are forecasted to range from -3°C to 6°C. They are expected to drop further on the 28th, with lows reaching between -10°C to 0°C. The intense cold of around -10°C is expected to persist through the weekend.
