Support within 72 hours, up to 30 days,
“[Sejong=Newsis] Reporter Park Young-joo = The Korea Social Security Information Service announced that from the 3rd, emergency care services can be easily applied for online through ‘Bokjiro’.”
The emergency care support project addresses anxiety about care by providing prompt support in cases of sudden absences due to illness, injury, or the death or hospitalization of the primary caregiver.
Once selected as a recipient, qualified care providers visit the recipient’s home to offer basic care such as physical activity support, household tasks, and mobility assistance. The service is provided within 72 hours, up to 30 days, and fees are charged based on the recipient’s income level.
This year, it will be implemented in 14 cities and provinces. Applications are not possible if the service area is not included, so detailed information can be obtained by contacting the Health and Welfare Counseling Center (129), the Social Service Institute’s main line (1522-0365), or the local town or village office.
Kim Hyun-joon, Director of the Korea Social Security Information Service, said, “I hope this will be a great help to those in need of care due to sudden situations like illness, injury, or family absences.”
