(Seoul = News1) Reporter Shin Chorong = Director So Jae-won, who directed films such as “Hope” and “Tunnel,” harshly criticized actor Choi Jun-yong, who publicly supported President Yoon Suk-yeol.
On the 8th, So Jae-won expressed on his Instagram, “Was this person an actor? Is someone who was forced to retire because of poor acting considered an actor? It’s not that his acting is old-fashioned, but that he can’t act at all, so why is he being called an actor in the articles?”
He continued, “This industry is cold. If a director, writer, or actor lacks talent, no one hires them, and they themselves don’t introduce themselves elsewhere. Because they are ashamed of being out of work. If you were forced into retirement because of your lack of skill, just live quietly. Don’t disgrace true actors by using the title of actor.”
He added, “Even unknown minor actors are more passionate and act better than you if you go to the set. That’s why they don’t hire you; you don’t even qualify for minor roles.”
Furthermore, he stated, “Our actors live only for their acting. With the majority of citizens condemning the traitors, I am afraid that the noble people who endure day by day only for their acting might be disparaged because of fake actors like you. Acting is a profession that serves the public. It’s not about praising power. No wonder your acting is a mess.”
Previously, Choi Jun-yong drew attention on the 3rd by speaking at a rally in Gwanghwamun against the impeachment of President Yoon, expressing support for martial law.
He said, “Everyone must have been shocked by the sudden declaration of martial law on December 3rd, as was I when I saw it on TV at home. What surprised me more was that it ended in just a few hours. I was disappointed. If martial law was declared, it should have been executed properly; why end it so soon?”
He also exclaimed, “How can I not speak out when the president is going through so much hardship? Since things are like this, I will no longer hide. I will continue to speak out and support him.”
During the 20th presidential election, Choi Jun-yong openly supported President Yoon and even participated in a celebrity campaign group during last year’s general elections, supporting the People Power Party and receiving a plaque of appreciation.
