“Defamation of Doctors and the Medical Association” – Im Hyun-taek’s Impeachment Proposed

The impeachment of Im Hyun-taek, the President of the Korean Medical Association (KMA), is being pursued again. The KMA’s Representative Council announced that 103 out of 246 representatives agreed to convene an extraordinary meeting to address the no-confidence motion against President Im. The reasons cited for impeachment include controversy over his harsh remarks and the failure to prevent the increase in medical school admissions. It appears that the motion will be discussed as early as next week’s extraordinary meeting.
