Come to the Healing Forest with your pet for a forest picnic.

On September 28th, the National Healing Forest in Yangpyeong will host a “Pet Companion Forest Picnic Event.” The event will include programs such as nose work aromatic walks, barefoot walking, and pet massages, along with a preview program of a pet play therapy space called the “Pet Touched Zone.” The Korea Forest Welfare Promotion Institute announced on the 13th that they will be holding the “2024 Pet Companion Forest Picnic Event” at the National Healing Forest in Yangpyeong on September 28th.

To enhance professionalism and experience, they will collaborate with the Korea Bloodhound Association and the Yangpyeong Pet Association to jointly run the programs. Apart from the programs, there will be various attractions, food, and activities for both pets and owners to enjoy together. These include a forest therapy bibimbap tasting event, photo events, pet treats made from locally grown rice flour, a picnic area to enjoy the autumn forest, and a “Forest Relaxing Experience” for non-pet owners.

In preparation for emergencies, they will be partnering with the startup company, Coin Company, to prevent pet loss by attaching GPS trackers and implementing a pet QR access authentication system called “Pet Pass.”

Han Sang-mi, the center manager of the National Yangpyeong Healing Forest, expressed gratitude for the support in activating pet forest therapy services and promised to run diverse programs to repay the interest shown by the public and associations. Nam Tae-heon, the director of the Korea Forest Welfare Promotion Institute, thanked the public for creating the meaningful term “Pet Touched Zone” through a previous nationwide competition and pledged to make efforts to meet the expectations of the era where pets are considered family members.
