The Busan Metropolitan Police Agency and Busan Metropolitan Autonomous Police Commission are cracking down on reckless motorcycle riding ahead of Korea’s Liberation Day on August 15.
On the night of the 14th, police will patrol and conduct preventive activities at expected routes and gathering places for reckless riding.
In this crackdown, about 300 police officers from traffic field offices, motorcycle squads, mobile police units, and mobile patrol units will be mobilized to focus on the prevention and capture of reckless riders.
In addition to on-site arrests of reckless riders, the police plan to thoroughly track and ensure strict post-punishment through investigation activities.
An official from the Busan Metropolitan Police Agency’s traffic division stated, “We will respond rigorously to reckless behaviors disrupting traffic order on roads with a zero tolerance principle.”
