[Herald Economy = Jang Yeon-ju, Reporter] The police have applied for arrest warrants for 66 out of the 90 people arrested for a riot at the Seoul Western District Court and the Constitutional Court.

The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency announced on the 20th that they had applied for arrest warrants for 66 individuals to the Western District Prosecutor’s Office the previous day. Among them, five were subject to pre-trial detention examinations at the Western District Court that day.

The arrest warrants were sought for 46 people on charges of trespassing into the Western District Court, 10 people for obstructing official duties by blocking a vehicle of the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials, and 10 people for climbing over the court’s walls or assaulting police officers, thereby obstructing official duties.

The police noted that the 90 people arrested in the act ranged in age from teenagers to those in their 70s, with those in their 20s and 30s making up the majority at 51% (46 people).

Additionally, it was reported that among the 46 people who trespassed into the Western District Court, there were three YouTubers included.

A police official stated, “We plan to thoroughly analyze mobile phones, collected evidence, and YouTube videos to identify and strictly punish those who committed illegal acts or instructed or abetted such acts.”
