[Herald Economy (Anyang) = Reporter Park Jung Kyu] On the 6th, Anyang City announced that it is recruiting participants for the ‘2025 Car Carbon Neutrality Points Program,’ which offers benefits by evaluating achievements in reducing car mileage.

The Car Carbon Neutrality Points Program is an initiative that provides incentives of up to 100,000 won in cash for reductions in greenhouse gas emissions. The program rewards participants based on reduced mileage during the participation period compared to the daily average mileage of the cumulative mileage of their vehicle.

The program is aimed at non-commercial passenger and vans with up to 12 seats registered within the district. Environmentally friendly vehicles such as electric, hybrid, and hydrogen cars are excluded.

This year, a total of 550 vehicles will be supported on a first-come, first-served basis. To facilitate this, the city has secured a budget of 25.6 million won.

Mayor Choi Dae-ho of Anyang stated, “It is a crucial time for interest and action in responding to climate change,” and urged “many citizens to actively participate in the carbon neutrality practice project.”

Meanwhile, last year’s recruitment saw a 100% participation rate with drivers of a total of 496 vehicles participating, and a total of 21.3 million won was distributed to 275 vehicles.
