A woman driver, who was checking her car in heavy rain, suddenly disappeared… The scene captured by the black box

On the morning of the 9th, a woman in her 40s went missing after being swept away by swift currents while checking a flooded vehicle in Jinryang-eup, Pyeongsa-ri near Sowacheon in Gyeongsan, Gyeongsangbuk-do, due to heavy rain in the region. According to News1, the police received a report at around 8:20 a.m. that a car was found unmanned on a rural road behind the Pyeongsa Rest Area. The black box in the vehicle captured footage of the woman being swept away by water after the car got submerged while she was outside checking. Personal belongings, including A’s cell phone, were found inside the car. Currently, the police and fire authorities are mobilizing 21 vehicles and 200 personnel for search operations. Heavy rainfall exceeding 180mm from the night of the 8th until noon on the 9th led to flooding on national highway 4 and submersion of five vehicles in the Gyeongsan area. In Namha-ri, Hayang-eup, one vehicle was submerged due to a flooded stream and a 70-year-old woman was rescued after being trapped in a flooded house.
