A person in their 20s, following a similar case with someone in their 30s, was stopped from leaving for Cambodia: “Refuses to disclose purpose of departure”

At Incheon International Airport, a man in his 20s was stopped from attempting to depart for Cambodia following a previous incident involving a man in his 30s. The younger man was unable to adequately explain his reason for leaving the country, prompting the police to initiate a preliminary investigation into the matter.

According to the Incheon Airport Police Unit, around 6:30 PM on the 16th, the police halted the departure of a man in his 20s, identified as Mr. A, at the boarding gate of the second passenger terminal at Incheon Airport, as he was trying to board a flight to Cambodia.

During a random check, the police asked Mr. A about his purpose for leaving the country. Mr. A reportedly did not provide a clear answer, responding instead with, “Why are you stopping me? I need to go.”

The police explained that Cambodia could be dangerous and prevented Mr. A from departing. Currently, they are re-confirming his travel intentions.

In a related development, a message was posted in a so-called “bullet bank account” recruitment chat room on Telegram around 7:35 PM that same day. The message stated, “Departure failed, tomorrow two people, one person on Sunday all canceled for now,” leading to speculation that Mr. A might be part of a criminal organization. However, there has been no confirmed evidence of criminal activity by Mr. A.

Despite continued questioning by the police, Mr. A remains silent and uncooperative. A police representative mentioned, “It has not yet been confirmed if the message author and Mr. A are the same person. We plan to assess whether to escalate the matter to a formal investigation.”

Previously, around 7 PM the previous day, a man in his 30s, identified as Mr. B, was also prevented from boarding a flight to Cambodia at Incheon Airport. Mr. B reportedly explained that he had quit his job and was on a break when a brother he met through Telegram sent him the flight ticket.
