A man who threatened to commit “chopping murder” after complaining about noise between floors receives a suspended sentence.

A man who threatened a neighbor protesting noise between floors mentioning attempted murder received a suspended prison sentence.

The Incheon District Court sentenced a man in his 30s, identified as A, to 1 year and 6 months in prison with a 3-year probation for the charge of specific threats.

Additionally, he was ordered to receive supervision and complete 80 hours of community service.

The court explained that the mental shock suffered by the victim was significant. However, they also took into consideration that A had moved to a different location since the incident and that he was a first-time offender.

A was indicted in April for allegedly threatening a woman in her 20s who lived in a neighboring house with a weapon when she complained about noise between floors.

He is said to have threatened the victim with a weapon, saying, “I will do an attempted murder,” when she objected to the noise issue.
