Mr. A was engaged in exterior wall painting and repair work at the time. Despite being immediately transported to a hospital following the accident, he unfortunately passed away.
According to the Changwon branch of the Ministry of Employment and Labor on the 4th, Mr. A had been hired as a day laborer by the primary contractor responsible for the painting and repair work on the apartment building. The Ministry is investigating the exact circumstances of the accident, including whether there were any violations of the Serious Accident Punishment Act, noting that the incident occurred as Mr. A was attempting to use a suspended scaffold to commence his work.
Suspended scaffolds are used for exterior wall painting or cleaning tasks, supported by ropes attached to fixed parts of a building. A work stoppage order related to the use of suspended scaffolds has been issued at the site.
