Health authorities have launched an investigation after a group of soldiers who dined at the 31st Division cafeteria exhibited symptoms of food poisoning.
According to Newsis on the 27th, 20 soldiers and others who had lunch at the 31st Division cafeteria on the 12th reported symptoms of food poisoning.
Upon receiving a report of suspected food poisoning, the Buk-gu district of Gwangju collected samples from food, the environment, staff, and symptomatic individuals, then requested tests from the Gwangju Health and Environment Research Institute.
As a result, norovirus was detected in those who showed symptoms of food poisoning. Buk-gu district is awaiting the test results from the Health and Environment Research Institute to investigate the cause of the food poisoning outbreak.
Buk-gu intends to consider follow-up measures as soon as the test results are available.
