In Incheon’s Cheongna International City, a fire broke out in a Benz vehicle just two weeks after an electric car fire, this time in a complex right across the street.
According to the Incheon West Fire Department on the 14th, a Benz vehicle parked in an underground parking lot in Cheongna-dong, Seo-gu, caught fire at 7:49 PM on that day.
A man in his 30s who was in the vehicle was injured in the fire and was transferred to a nearby hospital for treatment by 119 emergency services.
The apartment where the fire occurred is right across the street from an apartment complex where 87 vehicles burned and 783 were damaged by fire in an electric car fire in the underground parking lot on the 1st of the month.
The fire department received the report and extinguished the fire at 8:29 PM, 40 minutes after the fire broke out.
The fire department confirmed items used in extreme situations inside the vehicle and plans to investigate the specific cause of the fire once the firefighting operations are completed.
When the fire trucks sounded their sirens and rushed to the scene, residents were anxious that another large-scale damage might occur, but thankfully the fire was extinguished without major casualties, relieving their startled hearts.
An official from the fire department said, “It was determined that the vehicle on fire was not an electric car,” and “It is believed that the fire did not spread to other areas except for one vehicle.”
