[Herald Economy=Reporter Lee Won-yul] Actor Yoo Ah-in (38, real name Um Hong-shik) who is undergoing trial for drug abuse, has been sued for sexually assaulting a man in his 30s (similar to rape).
However, Yoo’s side drew a line saying, “The allegations related to Yoo Ah-in are not true.”
According to the police on the 26th, Yoo was booked after they received a complaint accusing him of the aforementioned incident.
A police official stated, “We have not contacted the suspect (Yoo Ah-in) separately yet,” and said, “We plan to summon and investigate the suspect soon.”
The complainant, Mr. A (30), claims that he was sexually assaulted by Yoo while sleeping at an officetel in Yongsan-gu on the 14th of last month.
Under current law, if a man commits sexual assault against another man, it falls under the crime of similar rape.
The officetel in question was not the residence of either Yoo or A, and it is reported that there were other men present at the scene as well.

The police are also considering the possibility that Yoo, who is undergoing trial for habitual drug abuse, may have committed the offense while under the influence of drugs.
It was reported that the police conducted an investigation of the complainant the previous day, and the preliminary drug test on the complainant showed a negative result.
In relation to this, Yoo’s side stated, “The allegations related to Yoo Ah-in are not true,” and said, “We ask for refraining from unnecessary speculations regarding personal matters.”

Meanwhile, Yoo is currently facing trial for allegedly repeatedly abusing propofol and other medical drugs during cosmetic procedures at a hospital in Seoul from September 2020 to March 2022.
The prosecution requested a prison sentence of 4 years, a fine of 2 million won, and a confiscation of 1.54 million won for Yoo at the trial held on the 24th at the Seoul Central District Court’s Criminal Agreements Section 25 (presided over by Chief Judge Ji Gwi-yeon).
The prosecution stated, “The defendant illegally obtained narcotics in the name of others with 500 million won worth of money, using his wealth and fame to deceive doctors and cover up his crimes with his social influence.”
In his final statement, Yoo expressed deep reflection and apology for his wrongdoings, saying, “I want to repay those who have cherished me with a much healthier and honest self, and live as a person who can contribute to society, regardless of the outcome.”
