One month before his birthday… ‘Taekwondo Studio Abuse’ five-year-old child dies.

A 5-year-old child who fell into unconsciousness after being abused at a taekwondo studio in Yangju, Gyeonggi Province has tragically passed away. According to the police, the child, A, who lost consciousness on the 12th at the taekwondo studio he attended, was transferred to the hospital for treatment and sadly passed away on the 11th day. Police investigation revealed that the taekwondo studio owner in his 30s, B, had put A upside down on a mat on the day of the incident and left him unattended for 20 minutes. At that time, A was heard crying out, “Please save me, take me out,” but the owner took no action. The owner even deleted CCTV footage showing the scene of abuse while A was receiving CPR. During police questioning, the owner, B, claimed that it was just a joke. According to media reports, the victim’s uncle said, “The owner asked the family for a settlement,” and expressed the hope that the harshest punishment possible would be given. The family also alleged that this was not the first instance of abuse by the owner. The child who passed away was reportedly a month away from his birthday. With A’s death, the prosecution plans to change the charges against the owner, B, to homicide through child abuse.
