Should I give living in a different region a try too?… Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is recruiting participants for the ‘Culture Freedom School’.

The ‘Culture Freedom School’ for young people who are concerned about living in their local area will open. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced on the 24th that they are recruiting 25 young participants for the ‘Culture Freedom School’ until August 5 in collaboration with the Korea Arts and Culture Council. The ‘Culture Freedom School’ will be held for free in Gangjin-gun, Jeollanam-do from September 1 to 12.

This event provides an opportunity for participants to reflect on their lives and contemplate living in their local area through various humanistic and cultural experiences such as rest, reading, writing, meditation, dialogue, and more. It includes activities like a humanities lecture on “Life Compass Talk Concert” for young people who are contemplating what they love to do, a “Writing Workshop” for self-reflection, and a “Daily Poet School” for poetry reading and humanities lectures.

Furthermore, in October, a ‘Culture Freedom School’ will be held in Yeoju, Gyeonggi-do for isolated and reclusive young people.

Lee Hae-don, a cultural policy officer at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, stated, “This event is planned for young people who are experiencing difficulties due to digital addiction, competition, comparison habits, relationship breakdowns, and career concerns,” and expressed hopes that the participants will recharge through rest, reflection, and various humanistic programs, and develop habits of happiness to find their own true way of living.
