“Available with just an app”…Hyundai to establish ‘EV Roaming Charging Stations’ in Indonesia

Hyundai Motor has introduced a system called ‘electric vehicle (EV) roaming’ in Indonesia, where users can freely use charging facilities from multiple companies with a single app. The company announced on the 23rd that Hyundai Motor has established the ‘Hyundai EV Charging Alliance’ with six private charging operators in Indonesia at the ‘GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show 2024’ held on the 19th (local time). Hyundai EV owners can easily use and pay for charging facilities from other companies affiliated with the alliance through the ‘My Hyundai’ app without separate membership registration or payment method registration. This roaming service allows access to a total of 429 locations and 696 EV charging infrastructures operated by seven alliance members in Indonesia, which account for approximately 97% of private EV chargers in the country. This is the first time Hyundai Motor has introduced a roaming system that enables the use of various chargers with a single app in Indonesia. Additionally, Hyundai Motor will launch an ‘EV Charging Service Program’ that provides new EV customers with 50kWh of charging capacity per month to use at charging stations operated by alliance members for one year. The provided charging capacity through the EV Charging Service Program will be available starting from August. A Hyundai Motor official stated, “We have signed business agreements to provide the most convenient charging service to EV customers,” adding, “As a leader in the Indonesian electric vehicle market, Hyundai Motor will do its best to ensure that customers can easily access products, services, and infrastructures.”
