[OSEN=Reporter Kim Su-hyeong] Lee Yoon-jin appeared on ‘Now I’m Alone’ with her tall daughter Sol. In particular, Sol resembles her mother with a sharp wit. Her recent activities have garnered attention.

On the 16th, on TV Chosun’s entertainment program ‘Now I’m Alone,’ Lee Yoon-jin introduced herself as “in the second act of my life” and revealed that she is working as an interpreter.

Currently residing in Bali, Lee Yoon-jin has been living there for 10 months now. She mentioned, “I am living with my daughter Sol.” She shared that her daughter Sol is significantly taller than her peers and even among Western kids, saying that although Sol is in the first year of middle school, she is 168cm tall. There is a 10cm height difference between Lee Yoon-jin and Sol.

Next, Sol, who appeared on ‘The Return of Superman’ at the age of 6 in 2016, was shown. Sol, now 13 years old, attends middle school in Bali. She said, “I came in October 2023, and after living in Bali for 6 months, I was initially scared and worried, but coming with my mom was actually nice.” She then shared scenes of her attending an international school, communicating fluently in English like her mother. She even went on stage to sing at school but when she didn’t win an award, she shed tears. Lee Yoon-jin found it cute and said, “Although she’s tall, she’s still a kid.”

Continuing to show Sol’s daily life, she was seen arranging her bed as soon as she woke up during vacation. Lee Yoon-jin remarked, “She inherited my stubbornness even though I didn’t want her to.” Notably, Sol has a younger British boyfriend she met in Bali. They shared a photo together, and Lee Yoon-jin mentioned, “When she first mentioned she liked him, I was indifferent, but when she said they were dating, I started rooting for her. My daughter’s love life is quite interesting.” She added that Sol openly expressed her feelings to her boyfriend and even called him ‘Lisa-bang.’

Sol shared her love story, saying, “He was a good and gentle boyfriend. Although I confessed feelings first, I was rejected. We remained friends, then went out alone together to watch a movie. I then told him that if he liked me too, we should date.” She actively pursued their love story.

When Lee Yoon-jin asked Sol if she wanted to go to a Korean middle school, Sol expressed some initial curiosity but said she felt a bit regretful about not having a graduation ceremony as she saw her friends posting about theirs on social media. Lee Yoon-jin expressed her apologies for the challenging early days of their life in Bali and recalled feeling sorry for moving around frequently. She also mentioned feeling anxious when contact with her father became sporadic, worrying that Sol might feel insecure without consistent communication with her father. Reflecting on those times, she wondered if she could fulfill the role of both mother and father.

However, Sol has now fully adapted to life in Bali and has become quite popular after just six months. She proudly shared a photo of herself attending a model UN event. She was delighted to represent her school at the UN. Furthermore, at the age of 13, she passed the junior interpreter certification exam following her mother’s footsteps, being proficient in English, Korean, Japanese, and Indonesian. Lee Yoon-jin praised her daughter’s intelligence and expressed pride, calling them “like mother, like daughter” for speaking four languages.

In addition, Sol won the Excellence Award in middle school and a gold medal at a science exhibition, making Lee Yoon-jin remark, “She is so smart and makes me proud.” Lee Yoon-jin expressed her apologies for not being able to provide a more stable life for Sol and thanked her for always adapting well. Recalling the turbulent times, Lee Yoon-jin shed tears and considered Sol as her support. Park Mi-sun also commented, “It’s a blessing to have such a daughter.”

Lee Yoon-jin humorously said, “While my husband may not have blessings, at least my daughter does.” Park Mi-sun provided comforting words, saying, “No one can have all blessings,” and Lee Yoon-jin added, “I am grateful for even having one blessing.” /[email protected]
