[Noon News] Former Prosecutor General Yoon Suk-yeol, who was newly elected as the president, mentioned the ‘ROK-US Peninsula Nuclear Restraint and Nuclear Operation Guidelines’ adopted at the ROK-US summit last week, evaluating that “the ROK-US alliance has been elevated to a genuine nuclear-based alliance.”
President Yoon, presiding over the Cabinet meeting at the Blue House today, emphasized, “By specially assigning Korean Peninsula missions to U.S. nuclear assets, we have established a posture that can respond agilely and effectively to any type of North Korean nuclear threat, regardless of wartime or peacetime.”
Meanwhile, President Yoon also urged, “We must fundamentally change the paradigm of disaster prevention and response by actively utilizing advanced science and technology to cope with damages caused by the monsoon rains.”
