The current situation of Jung Joon-young, who served time in prison for charges of group sexual assault and illegal filming on the 8th, was revealed.
On this day, a netizen posted a photo of Jung Joon-young taken in Lyon, France on an online community and shared witness accounts. The netizen wrote, “He was hitting on women at a bar, asking for their social media accounts, and said he will open a Korean restaurant in Lyon. He introduced himself as a famous singer named Jun in Korea.” In the publicly shared photo, Jung Joon-young is seen smiling brightly with groomed hair and beard.
Another netizen added to the witness account by saying, “A French person in Lyon ordered drinks with friends at a club, but they were wrong. He thought about giving them to people around him because it would be a waste to throw them away, but suddenly a man appeared and said he would drink it.”
Jung Joon-young attempted to open a restaurant in Paris, France in 2018, but it fell through due to the aftermath of his crimes.
Jung Joon-young was sentenced to 5 years in prison in September 2020 for charges including drugging women and committing group sexual assault in Hongcheon, Gangwon Province in January 2016 and in Daegu in March of the same year. He was also charged with spreading illegally filmed videos on a group chatroom involving former Big Bang member Seungri and former FT Island member Choi Jong-hoon, among others. Jung Joon-young was released from Mokpo Prison in South Jeolla Province in March after serving his sentence.
Seungri, the main culprit of the ‘Burning Sun gate,’ continues to show unrepentant behavior as well.
Seungri was revealed to be the actual owner of Gangnam club Burning Sun in 2019, led the charge, and retired from the entertainment industry. He was sentenced to 1 year and 6 months in prison for charges including special law violations related to prostitution, mediation of prostitution, aggravated punishment for specific economic crimes act, embezzlement, breach of food sanitation laws, habitual gambling, and violation of foreign exchange laws.
After completing his sentence at Yeoju Prison and being released in February, Seungri stirred controversy by enjoying consecutive parties. He even contacted those around him to go to clubs, enjoyed luxurious parties in Singapore with Chinese-speaking stars whose activities were halted due to a drug scandal, and did not hesitate to associate himself with Big Bang. It was revealed that he declared, “I will bring G-Dragon” at a club party overseas, leading to severe criticism.
Nevertheless, Seungri continues to sing Big Bang’s songs and references the group’s name while working towards expanding his business. He is currently preparing to open a club in Cambodia. It is known that he has already completed the investment for club acquisition.
