[Sports Chosun reporter Lee Ji-hyun] Amid the reemergence of the theft case involving the late Goo Hara’s safe, rapper Zico is facing a wave of malicious comments.
On the 24th, Zico’s account was flooded with malicious comments such as, “Did you enjoy the golden phone?”, “Where were you when Hara’s safe was raided?”, “Please explain the golden phone,” and “What’s in the golden phone?”.
This is due to Zico’s past mention of the so-called ‘golden phone.’ In 2016, during an appearance on MBC’s ‘Radio Star’ with Jung Joon-young, Zico revealed, “Jung Joon-young has a ‘golden phone.’ It’s not an official phone. He only uses it for messenger purposes in case of emergencies. Many people are saved here, like a ‘Pokémon encyclopedia’.”
In response, Jung Joon-young added, “When Zico comes to our house, he asks, ‘Where is the golden phone?’ I haven’t erased the contacts and saved my acquaintances’ numbers, and he comes to read it for himself.”
Following this, Zico later clarified, “The statement has nothing to do with any inappropriate incidents. What I saw was just a list of contacts of my acquaintances, and I have been exchanging private messages with them for a long time.”

However, on the 22nd, SBS’s ‘I Want to Know That’ aired an episode tracking the mystery surrounding the theft of Goo Hara’s safe and the identity of the culprit seen in CCTV footage, reigniting suspicions towards Zico.
An expert on the show noted, “Upon closer inspection, the individual attempts to enter the door lock but then gives up on pressing the numbers, suggesting that it may not be a professional thief. There is also a possibility that a professional subcontractor who knows the password from someone else may be involved.”
The production team, with the help of experts, improved the image quality and estimated the culprit to be around 170cm tall, in his mid-20s, with a slim face wearing an earring on the left side. They described him as having good physical strength, poor eyesight, and wearing glasses or contact lenses in reality.
Goo Hara’s older brother revealed, “There were a total of 6 mobile phones inside the safe. Only 3 were recently used. Since they are iPhones, we cannot unlock them, and they are currently kept safe with a reputable company.” The production team speculated that the timing of phone usage coincides with events such as the Burning Sun incident, when Goo Hara was abandoned and left at the age of 9, the recent success in obtaining a 40% share of the property upon division, and the incident with a former boyfriend who attacked Goo Hara.

On the 23rd, Zico posted a meaningful message on his account, saying, “Is this a sanctuary or a foolish defense mechanism of walls built in suspicion? The sky-like ceiling of a mixed color is majestic. Unhappy with hoping for sunlight or rain, blaming the weather because they felt unfamiliar with the outside world, projecting the self-proclaimed emptiness to the world. It’s the most human thing to openly reveal countless expressions that are created in the heart without hesitation. Stop wasting life hesitating any longer.”
