MZ generation has chosen Samsung Electronics, SK Telecom, and Naver as the leading domestic AI companies. According to the job information platform Job Planet on the 6th, in a survey of 947 MZ generation individuals (those born between 1981 and 2010), it was revealed that Samsung Electronics, SKT, and Naver were ranked in that order as the top domestic AI companies. Respondents also listed Kakao, Hyundai Motor, LG Electronics, Doosan Robotics, KT, POSCO, and Hanwha Systems in the top 10 domestic AI companies. Job Planet explained that companies excelling in AI technology across various fields were selected.
Samsung Electronics, which ranked first, publicly announced the generative AI model ‘Samsung Gauss’ in November last year and has been using it for internal operations since December. The model includes text generation, image generation, and code generation, aiding in various tasks. Samsung combines the ‘on-device AI’ technology operating within smartphones with Galaxy to provide a comprehensive mobile AI experience.
SKT, placed second, has excelled in various AI fields such as AI personal assistant ‘AIDot,’ AI data centers, large-language models (LLM), and AI semiconductors. The number of ‘AIDot’ subscribers has now reached 4 million. Last month, SKT also topped a global study on AI conducted by the British market research agency Omida among 12 major telecommunication companies.
Naver, ranked third, is deploying and enhancing AI technology across its services. They are planning to transfer their self-developed LLM ‘HyperCLOVA-X’ to the platform and introduce paid services for ecosystem expansion. In response to the question “Are you interested in AI?” 70.7% of the respondents answered that they are ‘very interested,’ while only 0.4% stated that they are not interested.
Kim Ji-ye, director of Job Planet, stated, “The companies that made it to the top 3 are showing explosive technological growth and expansion, enhancing their global market competitiveness. As the second round of AI is beginning, these are the companies that we should pay attention to.”
