[Sports Chosun’s Lee Woojoo] Lee Joon of ‘You Quiz on the Block’ reveals his struggles with poverty during his school days.
On the 24th, tvN’s ‘You Quiz on the Block’ released a teaser video titled ‘High School Student Lee Joon Who Lived in the School Practice Room to Avoid Cockroaches.’
Lee Joon, who attended Seoul High School’s dance department, practically lived in the practice room. He confessed, “There’s a long cabinet that a person can enter. I’d go inside and wait for the security guard to finish his patrol. After he left, I’d lock the door. It’s really scary when the practice room is dark. I practiced dancing and slept there.”
There was a reason Lee Joon had to practice dancing and spend time at school so intensely. He said, “My home was in such a difficult condition at that time, with so many cockroaches.” He added, “Even now, I can’t break the habit of lifting my pillow before sleeping, like on ‘1 Night 2 Days’. There were always four cockroaches under the pillow, and there were cockroaches on my toothbrush bristles when I went to brush my teeth.”
Lee Joon also shared, “The house I lived in still exists. When I sometimes go there, it feels like I’ve returned to that time. Then when I come back home, I feel really strange because my current home is so nice. It makes me realize that despite the lack of significant personal change, I’m living and experiencing so much more than before.”
