The Korea Tourism Organization Launches Hospitality Campaign for BTS Global Fandom

On the 21st, promotional videos and hospitality booths will be operating around Gwanghwamun. HiKR Ground will have extended hours of operation. Tourism information and discount benefits will also be provided.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization announced on the 17th that they will launch a hospitality campaign and promote Korean tourism targeting the global fandom, taking advantage of the BTS comeback performance on the 21st at Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul.

The organization plans to strengthen both online and offline marketing connections to encourage BTS fans’ attendance at the concert to also lead to actual tourism, experiences, and visits to local areas.

Firstly, around Gwanghwamun, Korean tourism promotional videos will be displayed on outdoor billboards, and a large banner to welcome global fans will be hung on the outer wall of the Government Complex Seoul. Near the standing area on Sejongdaero, in front of Exit 6 of Gwanghwamun Station, a promotional booth will be operated in collaboration with the Korea Creative Content Agency to introduce K-content and travel information, as well as host experiential events and souvenir giveaways.

The “HiKR Ground” Korean tourism promotional center near Gwanghwamun will be decorated with a purple theme. Various events such as beverage discounts, dance, and singing contests will be held there. On the day of the performance, it will operate until midnight, offering restroom access, mobile phone charging services, and free Wi-Fi.

Online tourism promotions will also be conducted. On the integrated Korean tourism platform ‘VISITKOREA,’ a special exhibition will introduce music video filming locations and tourist spots near the concert venue. On the foreigner-exclusive platform ‘NOL World’ by Nol Universe, discounts on tourism and experience products will be offered to foreigners. The organization’s overseas branch SNS channels will distribute card news containing essential information for foreign tourists, including entry procedures, concert information, payment methods, and transportation.

Additionally, the organization will support global influencers in creating promotional content about Korea. Selected influencers will receive experience vouchers to personally explore K-culture, tourism, and food, along with concierge services like recommending filming courses and providing filming assistance.

The support for the convenience and safety of tourists will also be reinforced. The organization will expand the 1330 tourism interpretation services and tourism information center operation to provide essential information in multiple languages, including venue transport, late-night travel, and nearby medical facilities. Moreover, the VISITKOREA website and app will offer reference information and travel advisories related to the concert venue.

Han Ye-ok, head of the Korea Tourism Organization’s International Tourism Content Office, stated, “The BTS comeback concert is the best stage to showcase the charm of Korean tourism to fans worldwide,” and added, “We will do our best in providing hospitality and convenience support so that fans can return home with unforgettable memories of Korea.”
