Autonomous A2Z announced on the 26th that it is the first in the domestic autonomous driving sector to obtain government approval to export national core technology and will export autonomous driving technology to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

On the 25th (local time), Autonomous A2Z delivered the export approval certificate to its joint venture in the UAE in Abu Dhabi. Previously, in November of last year, Autonomous A2Z established a joint venture with local UAE company Space42. Attendees at the export approval ceremony included Ha Jeong-woo, Blue House’s AI Future Planning Secretary, Choi Young-jun, Minister-Counsellor at the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in the UAE, Kim Sang-jin from the National AI Strategy Committee, Yo Min-sang, Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) of Autonomous A2Z, and Munira Al Marzouqi, representative of Space42.

Autonomous driving is designated as a national core technology, requiring prior approval from relevant authorities for overseas export. Autonomous A2Z received industrial and trade approval, marking the first export approval in the autonomous driving field.

With this export approval, Autonomous A2Z plans to deploy its self-developed Level 4 autonomous vehicle, Roy, and various modified vehicles in the UAE. The joint venture between Autonomous A2Z and Space42 is gradually expanding its autonomous vehicle production, demonstration projects, and AI mobility businesses in the Middle East. Autonomous A2Z is pursuing business deals valued at $7.6 million (approximately 11 billion won) within the year and plans to generate local revenue of $78 million (approximately 110 billion won) by 2035.

Han Ji-hyung, CEO of Autonomous A2Z, stated, “This export approval signifies not just the overseas expansion of a single company but represents the debut of autonomous driving as a core technology leading South Korea on the global stage.”
