A man in his 40s was arrested for injuring an acquaintance by wielding a weapon at a drinking gathering.

A man in his 40s was arrested by the police for wielding a weapon while drinking with an acquaintance during the Lunar New Year holiday.

The Gyeonggi Gwangju Police announced today (18th) that they have arrested and are investigating a man in his 40s, referred to as Mr. A, on charges of special injury.

Mr. A is accused of injuring a man in his 40s, identified as Mr. B, with a weapon around 3 a.m. at his home in Gwangju City, Gyeonggi Province.

Police, who were dispatched after receiving a report from other acquaintances at the scene, arrested Mr. A as a red-handed offender.

Mr. B sustained an injury near his head but it has been determined that there is no threat to his life.

During the police investigation, Mr. A stated, “I committed the crime under the influence of alcohol and due to emotional distress.”

The police are investigating the exact circumstances of the crime and are considering applying for an arrest warrant for Mr. A.
