An analysis suggests that American billionaire and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein (1953–2019) may have had connections with Russian intelligence authorities. The British daily, The Telegraph, reported on the 1st (local time) based on emails Epstein sent to then-British Prince Andrew in 2010, indicating Epstein may have facilitated sexual encounters between young Russian women and powerful, wealthy men.
The so-called “Epstein Files” released by the US Department of Justice on the 30th of last month include 3 million documents, 180,000 photos, and 2,000 videos. Among these, 1,056 documents mention Russian President Vladimir Putin, and over 9,000 mention Moscow. The Telegraph suggested, based on the document contents, that Epstein might have had contact with President Putin.
Furthermore, considering Epstein recruited Russian prostitutes, there is speculation that he might have been involved in a “kompromat” operation, which involves filming influential figures in compromising situations for blackmail. According to reports, in a 2010 email with Sergei Belyakov, then-Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Russia, Epstein mentioned a woman from Moscow blackmailing New York businessmen about their weaknesses.
The disclosed documents reportedly include emails related to air tickets hinting at Epstein’s side moving Russian women from Moscow to cities like Paris and New York. However, The Telegraph noted that the authenticity of some email contents has not been verified, and the individuals mentioned in the documents deny the allegations.
