The Democratic Party of Korea emphasized its determination to fulfill the public’s mandate to address the state of emergency by establishing a dedicated court division and warrant division for insurrections. During a high-ranking officials’ meeting held today (the 1st), Leader Jung Cheong-rae remarked that even as the one-year mark of the insurrection approaches, the darkness still lingers. He noted that not a single responsible party has been punished thus far, and public anxiety is growing over whether Yoon Seok-youl’s release and freedom to roam is due to the lenient handling by the judiciary.
He further stated that while a normal judiciary would rightly punish insurrection, the current “Cho Hee-dae Judiciary” seems to be shielding the forces behind the insurrection, which is a dire reality. He asserted that the spirit of the times demands a complete resolution of the insurrection.
Leader Jung pledged to handle legislative reforms, including the establishment of a dedicated court division for insurrections, enlargement of the Supreme Court, and addressing legal misinterpretations, within the year.
